Plan assistance with the user

Ask the person how they prefer to approach the ramp and what help, if any, they want. Agree clear words for start, slow and stop before moving onto a slope. Review access as circumstances change

Revisit the plan when the person changes chair, gains different support needs or begins using the entrance more frequently. Building work, new paving, a replacement door and even a thick indoor mat can alter clearances. Seasonal conditions may reveal drainage or grip problems absent during the first trial. Ask the user whether the route remains comfortable and dignified, not simply whether it is technically passable. If repeated handling, assistance or maintenance becomes burdensome, compare a more permanent adaptation. Good access is an ongoing relationship between the person, mobility aid, building and people responsible for the route.
